Ontario traffic fatalities rise despite drop in fatal four

Living in Ontario, you want to know that you're safe on the roads. Interestingly, some of the most dangerous causes of traffic accidents have reduced, but that still hasn't made a serious reduction in the number of traffic accidents taking place. If you're involved in a collision, your attorney can help you make a claim. Here are some statistics that you may want to use in your case.

The Ontario Provincial Police have recently released data from 2015 showing the causes of fatalities on the roads. Many accidents take place because of these factors, many of which you likely see on a regular basis. These statistics show which fatalities were caused by the four most common factors: speed-related offenses, not wearing a seat belt, inattentive driving, and intoxication.

The number of deaths caused by the four were down in 2015 compared to 2014, but that doesn't mean deaths were down overall, making it clear that there are more than four factors playing a role in traffic incidents. In fact, road deaths have risen between 2014 and 2015, with 299 people killed in the jurisdiction in 2015 over 288 in 2014.

In fact, in 2015, more collisions involving multiple fatalities took place, and there were around four times as many accidents involving the deaths of three or more, and in one, four people were killed.

It's important to make sure you stay safe, and if you're hit by a negligent driver, you have a right to make claim. Your life was put in danger by another person's negligence, so you have a right to ask for a way to cover your expenses.
